The Moscow Metro will increase the amount of advance payments to train manufacturers up to 30% of the annual supply volume, the city Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of the capital reported.
„In order to support the implementation of one of the main transport projects of the capital region – MCD ( Moscow Central Diameters – IF ), we decided to use this opportunity to purchase suburban trains for the next two diameters,” the message says.
The mayor’s office believes that this will help train manufacturers to gain long-term contracts and financial potential in import substitution.
For the third and fourth lines, MCD plans to purchase 95 trains. 36 of them will be purchased by the Moscow metro, the tender has already been announced. Then the rolling stock will be handed over to the carrier.
